Post cash logs to Telegram

A Manual cash logs digest posts every cash log to your team’s Telegram group as soon as it’s saved, whether it was logged in the app or through the Telegram bot. Owners and managers see the cash come in without opening Maitaki.

Before you start

• Manual Cash Logging is on for the location, in Settings, the location, then Sales. See Log cash sales.
• A Telegram group is linked to the location. See Add Maitaki to your team’s Telegram group.

Set it up

1. Open the account menu (your location and avatar, top right on a phone; bottom left on a computer) and tap Settings.
2. Tap the location, then Digests.
3. Tap New digest.
4. Under Kind, choose Manual cash logs. The name changes to Manual cash logs; edit it if you like.
5. Choose whether to Send the day’s snapshot (see below).
6. Tick Telegram. If the location has more than one linked group or topic, pick one under Send to.
7. Set Status to On.
8. Tap Save.

On the Digests list it shows as Right away, each cash log. It counts toward the location’s 4 digests.

What gets posted

Each cash log posts with its amount, business day, shift, who logged it, the note and the photo. If someone edits or deletes a log, a one-line update follows. Nothing posts twice.

Turn Send the day’s snapshot to On to also post the day’s sales and timesheet images after each log. The snapshot only goes to a group set to Managers — financials. A staff group gets the cash message only, and the editor tells you so.

Check it works. After saving, tap Edit and Send a test now. It posts the latest cash log to the group.

Common questions

I don't see Kind or Manual cash logs.

Manual Cash Logging is off for this location. Turn it on under the location’s Sales page in Settings, then come back.

It says nothing will post until Manual Cash Logging is turned on.

The digest is set up, but cash logging was turned off for the location. Turn Manual Cash Logging back on under Sales.

Can it go to my private chat with the bot?

No. Digests post to linked groups only.
