"Maitaki hit a problem"

If something goes wrong while Maitaki is showing a screen, you see Maitaki hit a problem instead, with Something went wrong while showing this screen. We’ve been sent the details. Everything you’ve saved is safe. Only the screen failed to show.

Reload

Tap Reload. Maitaki starts again and most of the time the screen opens normally.

If the same screen fails again, try going there another way, for example from the Dashboard instead of a link.

Reset to installed version (phone app)

The phone app updates itself with new versions. If a new version is the cause, the problem screen also says If reloading doesn’t help, go back to the version that came with the app. and shows Reset to installed version.

1. Tap Reset to installed version.
2. The app restarts on the version that came with it when you installed it.

The version that failed is skipped. Your phone gets the next newer one when it comes out. In the account menu, you may see a note at the bottom that the version didn’t start on this phone and was skipped.

Your saved work is safe. Your account and everything you’ve saved are kept by Maitaki, not on the phone, so they’re there after the restart.

If it keeps happening

At the bottom of the problem screen there’s a short line with the version number and the error. Take a screenshot of the whole screen and email it to support@maitaki.ai, with what you tapped right before it appeared. See Contact support.

Common questions

I don't see Reset to installed version.

It only shows in the phone app, when you’re on a downloaded update. In a web browser, or on the version that came with the app, Reload is the only option.

The app says Update required instead.

That’s a different screen: your version is too old to save changes. See Update the Maitaki app.

Did I lose what I was typing?

Anything you hadn’t saved yet is lost when the app reloads. Anything you saved is kept.
