Archive or restore a recipe
Take a recipe you no longer make out of your lists without losing it, and bring it back any time.
Also known as: delete recipe · hide recipe · remove recipe · restore · undelete · old recipe · discontinued dish · unarchive · bin recipe
Archiving puts a recipe away. It leaves your Recipes list and can’t be picked for new dishes or menus, but its ingredients and steps are kept, and you can restore it whenever you like.
Archive a recipe
- Tap Library, then the Recipes tab, and open the recipe.
- Tap ··· at the top right.
- Tap Archive recipe.
You’re taken back to your recipes, and the recipe is gone from the list.
Restore a recipe
- Tap Library, then the Recipes tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Archived to open the list.
- Tap Restore next to the recipe.
It goes straight back into your recipes.
While a recipe is archived
- It doesn’t appear when you add an ingredient to another recipe.
- It doesn’t appear when you add a dish to a menu or an option to a modifier group.
Common questions
Can I delete a recipe for good?
No. Recipes are archived, never deleted, so nothing is lost by mistake.
I don't see the ··· button.
Archiving is for Managers, Admins and Owners. Ask one of them, or ask for your role to be changed. See Roles: who can do what.
Should I archive a sauce that other recipes use?
Leave it active while dishes still use it. Archived recipes can’t be added to new dishes, and you’d have to restore it to use it again.
